We strive for fun above all, and we want people to be able to participate and learn. We are not elitist, we do not use DKP, Karma, Suicide Kings, Loot Council or other loot distribution systems (see loot policy in the Guild Charter) and we are not about the loot nor bugging/exploiting encounters just to get past them. That said, we do expect a few things from those that wish to raid.
- Be on time. Try to be at the summoning stone 10 minutes in advance. If you can't be there, at least be out of group and ready for a summon. Nobody likes to sit around for an extra 30 minutes waiting for somebody. Things happen, we understand this. Whenever possible, notify someone or make a post in the forums if you cannot make the raid time. Canceling your sign-up on the calendar helps. If you are unable to do that, it's understandable, but don't make a habit of it or we may start passing you up at invite time.
- Be prepared. Do not be the person coming to raid with no reagents, no food, no potions, etc. Estimate the amount of these items you will need for the scheduled raid time and bring them and a few extra with.
- Know what to do (or what not to do). Take a little time before a scheduled raid to read about the encounter. You don't need to know every little detail about the fight, but you should know your role and how not to stand in the fire.
- Keep chatter down. Yes, we all like to talk, but when fights are being explained, we are in battle or loot is being distributed, do not talk in the vent channel unless you have been assigned to (raid leader, encounter caller, etc.) We can talk after said task has been handled.
- Take breaks at convenient times. Not convenient for you, but convenient for the entire raid. Do not go AFK to get a drink, answer the door or have a smoke just before a boss fight unless the raid leader calls for it. When there are timers involved in encounters, we don't want to lose an attempt because somebody needed a smoke. If you are expecting a knock at your door or a call, etc. let the raid leader know ahead of time as best you possibly can.
- Have fun! Yes, even when there are rules to follow, it is possible to have fun. If you do not have fun in raid, consider that raiding may not be something for you. Decide why you are not having fun, and take any necessary actions to remedy that.
